Boudoir_Pinup_Photography - Boudoir Photographer - Boudoir_Pinup_Party

Friday, August 27th, 2010

As a professional photographer, I have to confess, Boudoir Photography is one of the most fun photo shoot I could ever ask for.More and more clients have been asking me to have their boudoir photo shoot session. Some of them want to do it to surprise their husbands, some want to surprise their boyfriends or fiancé, and for my surprise a lot of them like to do the shoot with few friends.

We call it “Boudoir and Pinup Party”, where 4 or 5 girls would spend few hours having their makeup done by a professional makeup artist and having some amazing and sensual pictures taken by a professional photographer - Sure it wouldn’t be a “Party” without some wine, snacks and some really great music to help setting up the mood.

The Boudoir and Pinup Party, it is so cool and fun that the girls don’t feel the pressure of showing their body.

Here are some more images…

Print Competition - Portrait - Photography

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

One of the best feedback that a Photographer can have of his art work is when he or she enters his or her work in a Print Competition.

Last Week, PPGF (a South Florida guild for professional photographers) hosted their Second 2010 Print Competition. This time we had our print competition together with the Palm Beaches Guild.

It was a great night with so many great images.

I was planing to enter four of my prints on this competition, but few weeks ago the external hard drive where I save my files crashed. I was lucky enough for having saved 2 of my images in another drive 2 months ago, so I could show them to another photographer friend of my.

Before I show you the images, I want to take this time to thank this photographer, friend of mine, Julie Hughes. Two months ago she came from her Professional Guild in Palm Beach to help our guild members in how to improve our chances in print competitions. Thanks!!!

Here are the results …

This print won 1st Prize for Portrait,

 print competition - portrait

and this one won 1st Prize for Pictorial Portrait, 1st Prize Over All, and also Best in Show

1st prize print competition

I know I have a long way to go until I can run my pictures in a national level, but I am getting there.

SFPVA - South Florida Professional Video Artist Association

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Few years ago I joined a GROUP of Videographers here in Broward (SFPVA - South Florida Professional Video Artist Association). We have our meetings every third Wednesday of the month at 1700 NW 66 Ave  Suite 100 Plantation, FL 33313.I have to say, once again, that that I am impressed with our president (Danny). He always works extra hard to make sure that every month we have more and more Professional Videographers (VIDEO ARTIST) coming to our meetings.

This week we had a group of more than 40 people that came to watch Ray Roman’s Presentation… He did an amazing job with his presentation and answering all the questions. Ray is one of the many talented Video Artists living here in South Florida, and it was a pleasure to have him there with us.

I also promised everybody that I would post some of the images that I shot of our meeting.

Thanks, everybody…

Anniversary Photography - Event Photographer - Arif and Parveen

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

It’s not a secret how much I love to photograph weddings and how happy the bride and groom look at their special day. But, what does happen to that couple after few years of marriage?

This week, I had the pleasure to be the photographer of Arif and Parveen 20th Anniversary. It was amazing to see how happy they were at he party…, I felt like I was shooting their wedding.

They celebrated their 20th anniversary at Bombay Grill (Indian Restaurant - 4465 North University Dr. Lauderhill, FL 33351) with their family and friends.

The owner of Bombay Grill, Paul Rungta, is an amazing person.  He did a great job in arranging the new banquet hall to host the Anniversary Party for Arif and Parveen.  Mr. Rungta made sure the food was excellent.

The DJ, Zafar Mithavayani, made the whole event very entertaining.  He played Indian music and everyone had a great time dancing.

If you want to check all the images from their Anniversary, CLICK HERE.

Congratulations Arif and Parveen!

Miami Photography - Trash the Dress - Photography Workshop

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Hi, my name is Paulo Jordao - http://www.paulojordao.com, and I am a international Photographer (Weddings and Fine Art Portraits) living in South Florida.

Last Sunday I had an amazing experience with one of my Workshops “Trash the Dress - Light and Location”, for Photographers from Miami - Fort lauderdale - Palm Beaches.

I had checked the location twice before I started marketing this Workshop. It is was a beautiful small park just south of Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

For this Workshop, I Had 19 Photographers, 12 models and 4 Makeup Artists - I also want to enjoy this post to thank all them for their amazing professionalism and beautiful job.

We had 3″ of rain that afternoon and most of people would think that we would not have the courage to go ahead with our schedule, but I am glad we did.

Here are few images of that day, let me know what you think.

Brazil - Larissa’s Birthday and Family Portrait

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

This week I had the honor shooting a family portrait session at Jaime Camara Jr. and Maria Alice’s ranch (an amazing place with features more impressive than most houses that I know). Jaime and Maria Alice are one the most respected couples of the State of Goias and Brazil.

I started the family portrait session at 5:00 pm, and shot until their son lost interest helping me. LOL! But, I had more than 90 minutes with Marcelo, Fernanda and their son, Francisco, and we had so many great shots that it was hard to select only few images to post here.

After the session, I stayed there to shoot  Larissa’s birthday party (Jaime and Maria Alice’s daughter). Larissa, Juliano (her husband) and Felipe (her son) are a great example of a beautiful Brazilian family.

It was a very selective party for her family and closest friends, and everybody were very casual and friendly.

I want to enjoy this post to thank Larissa for having me at her wonderful birthday, and also congratulate her on her pregnancy.

Since I couldn’t bring all my gear from USA to Brazil, I did my best to work with as much available light as possible.

Here are few samples of that day…

Wedding Photography Prices - 2010

Before you compare my prices with another Photographer, it is a good idea to know exactly what you want for your special day.
Do you need an Experienced Photographer (has studied years and years the art of composition, posing, retouching, album designing and etc, and will use his or her artistic gift to help you preserving the best memories of your life), or do you need another “Shooter” for couple hundred dollars in exchange of your images in a CD?
I am a Fine Art Photographer and I will combine Photojournalism and Traditional styles, giving you the best of both worlds.
I only book a limited amount of weddings per year so I can deliver the quality and the attention that my selected clients deserve.
The popular dates fill up fast! Please contact me to see if your date is still available.

But for 2010, I decided to go Bananas – Here is the newest 2010 Price list:

Zacharys 1st birthday - Birthday Photography

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Yesterday I had the honor of being the photographer for Zachary’s first birthday.

Here are some reason for that:

  1. I love photography
  2. I love to photograph beautiful people
  3. great food
  4. do I need to mention about money??? LOL

But when I said that it was an honor to be the photographer for Zachary’s first birthday, is because a little more than  one year ago, I had the pleasure to photograph one the most beautiful Pregnancy Session that any photographer could wish for, Zachary’s Mom - Ana (Check here her Pregnancy Session)

Back to the birthday party…; it was a party for family and closest friends and even Elmo was there to help entertaining the kids.

Ana asked me to have some Professional Portrait done at the party with her family and guests, so I brought two of my studio lights + a 12′ x 25′ backdrop to have everybody looking their best.

I am still editing the images and in one or two days all the images will be posted on this link - CLICK HERE (PAGE ALREADY ONLINE) -, but since I promised everybody that I would post a Blog with the link, so they could look all the images, I wanted at least show one of the images that I shot there:

Once again, I want to thank everybody form Zachary’s birthday party for for the great time.

Sincerely,

Professional Photographer - Paulo Jordao - Articles

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Hi everybody, This is Paulo Jordao I just got this article published. I hope you enjoy it.

Professional Photographer - Are You Kidding Me?

Would you agree with the statement that no matter what profession you look as an example, some professionals are better than others and that for some reason, they produce better results, better quality, better services and etc?

That is how most of people decide to hire their accountants, doctors, lawyers and etc - Somehow, in their mind, such professional’s expertise or the services that he or she provides justify the investment that their clients will make.

If you only needed a doctor to prescribe some headache medicine, you wouldn’t spend your time and money going to an expensive specialist. You would probably go to the closest doctor’s office in your neighbor or the cheapest doctor in town to prescribe that for you. But if you need a more complex diagnostic or a specialist to treat a serious illness, for sure you would drive or invest whatever was necessary to have the best doctors and tests that you could afford. Wouldn’t you?

That is a real fact that you might have to deal on a daily basis for whatever services you might need - You would go as far as necessary or invest as much money as you could possible afford depending on the importance or the urgency of your specific situation or necessity.

That is also true with Photography…

If you need few cute pictures of a family vacation or your kids little birthday party that you only bought some sodas and a cake - no special decorations, clowns, balloons and etc - you could probably have anybody with a descent digital camera shooting them for you (yourself, a cousin, a stranger passing by, etc).

But, if you need someone to capture the images of some unique and special moment of your life - a Wedding, Bar Mitzvah, Sweet Sixteen, Pregnancy, New Born, Special Family Portrait and etc - You might consider hiring the best Photographer that you can afford.

With the digital era (where you can find some good semi-professional digital camera for under $800) and so many people without a job, it is very common to find so many “amateurs photographers” trying to offer you a good deal.

Here are some tips to help you finding a Real Professional Photographer:

1) Website- The photographer has to have a nice website with samples of the event that you need him or her for (few different weddings, birthdays, portraits, etc).

2) Equipment- I am not kidding,… you would be surprised to know how many “photographers” only have their camera and a flash. Nothing else!

3) Studio- It doesn’t mean that all Professional Photographers have to have a Commercial Studio, but no matter if the Photographer has a Home-Studio or a Commercial Studio, you need to set up an appointment to check the photographers work (prints, albums, collections, etc).

4) Appearance- Does he or she look and act professionally? As I said before, “As soon as you decide that you need a photographer for your personal project or special event, you should hire the best Photographer that you can afford”.

“Don’t trust your lifetime memories to an amateur!”
